At least 37,000 people across the rural counties of Leicestershire and Rutland have regularly suffered some form of social isolation or loneliness within the last two years.  So far this year, and due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, this has increased dramatically with over 165,000 people across our counties experiencing the unwanted feelings and impact of loneliness.

The Rural Community Council believes anyone can reach out and help others in their community suffering from loneliness and has set up free online training sessions on Wednesday 28 October, Thursday 5 November, Wednesday 11 November and Tuesday 17 November.  Further details by clicking here or from
